So after a lovely summer in England (yes finally we got some good weather), it’s time to go back to basics and think about our skincare routine. Especially now that winter is around the corner.
I’m always saying to my family, friends and clients that your makeup is going to look flawless only if you look after your skin. And when you think about it, you know it’s true!
Being a makeup artist I’m always on the lookout for new skin care products and as much as I’m a true Dermalogica girl, after using this product I may have to change. Shock horror I know! However, having a baby who is now crawling, her hands have been places I don’t even know and they end up on my face which means I need an amazing cleanser.
Clarins Gentle Foaming Cleanser is what I have been using recently. I use this product on days when I wear heavy makeup and I really want my skin to feel like it’s clean, fresh, dirt free and basically everything free.
I am currently using the combination skin cleanser, which is perfect for an oily t-zone (forehead, nose to chin) leaving the rest of the face dry. There are another three to choose from depending on your skin type so make sure you ask the Clarins consultant for advice. I also wanted something that was great for sensitive skin, which I have, and not so fragranced as I’ve always stuck to products which are fragrance free. When applying the cleanser you really only need a small amount and it foams up just enough to feel soft and spread nicely on your skin. The smell is just so warming to your skin that you immediately feel that it’s working.
OK, so this is where it gets exciting! Once you have completely washed your face your skin literally feels squeaky clean. When I mean squeaky clean, I mean you know how you wash your dishes and they are so clean that they squeak? Well, that’s how your face will feel.
Now usually after cleansing my face, I use a toner. The reason why I am mentioning this is because you may find makeup is still coming off onto the cotton pad even though you have washed your face. Well guess what? Not this time! There was no makeup that came off my skin once I used this cleanser. I have noticed my skin looking a lot more radiant and feeling so much softer. Just to mention I have only been using this product for the last 6 days and I already see good results.
For amazing looking skin try this product with a face brush, something like the Clarasonic Mia 2 Facial Cleanser. Now these two products combined will make your skin looking beautiful and as if you don’t even need makeup on.
The Clarins Cleanser retails at £19.50 for a 125ml bottle, which is a low to medium price for a face wash and I think it’s very reasonable, especially as you only need to use a small amount each time.
However, if there was one thing that I wasn’t too impressed with about this product, it’s got to be how it works with eye makeup, and if anyone knows me I’m all about eye makeup. As amazing as this product is cleaning your skin, you still have to use a little bit more of the product on your eyes. I would really want this product to completely remove my eye makeup as well. It would just simplify my skin care routine.
On the whole the Clarins Gentle Foaming Cleanser is a great product and something that I would recommend to anyone who wants a good strong and instant result face wash as part of a regular face cleansing routine.
